About CTEK
CTEK Power Inc. designs and develops a unique series of high-tech battery chargers and special solutions for all types of lead-acid batteries for both private and professional use.
The cornerstone in CTEK's successful business concept that allows the development of a new category of battery charger is the extensive knowledge of batteries and electronics. These new battery chargers satisfy not only today’s high demands on battery care, but also take the increasing needs of the growing group of new users into consideration.
Safety, simplicity and flexibility are key words and requirements that apply to all the products and solutions currently developed and sold by CTEK. Since our initiation, close to three million battery chargers have been sold in 60 countries throughout the world. CTEK is also a reliable OEM supplier to many of the world's most prestigious car and motorcycle manufacturers.
CTEK History
CTEK was formed in 1997, and is a sister subsidiary to Creator Teknisk Utveckling AB (a leading consulting firm within design and development) which was formed in 1982. Our battery knowledge began to form in 1992, when a leading battery manufacturer hired Creator for research and development of batteries and later for research on a new system of battery chargers that would meet the requirements of battery charging and maintenance of new generations of batteries. The research and development programme ended when an American group acquired Creator’s customer. Creator understood that the now patented system represented a fantastic business opportunity all over the world. It was then that CTEK was formed to design, develop, manufacture and market its own battery charger.
CTEK Organization
CTEK has operations in USA and China. The head office and development are located in Vikmanshyttan, Dalarna, Sweden. CTEK and Creator have around 120 employees.

CTEK’s OEM clients
CTEK provides battery chargers to a number of the world’s leading automobile manufacturers. At first glance you might wonder why this is so. Their specific needs also contribute to development towards a broader requirement and dependence on battery charging, care and maintenance of their car batteries.
-
Cars with high performance and prestige are extremely well equipped with electronics (for performance, information to the driver and comfort) as well as alarm systems. These systems are very demanding on your car battery.
-
Sports cars tend not to be driven far enough or often enough to recharge your car battery sufficiently.
-
Cars are manufactured to be reliable and give high performance to demanding drivers.
-
Even if the development of high performance batteries has made significant advances, the batteries still need to be maintained.
-
Consequently, there is a clear link between high performance cars and battery care. Moreover, advanced cars are also expensive and naturally need a charger for the battery that can match the car's standard and which is guaranteed to be compatible with all the systems in the car.
These automobile manufactures have therefore searched for a suitable and reliable charging system for your car battery that guarantees a continued, well-earned, good reputation.
In 2002, shortly after the German automobile manufacturer Porsche launched its first battery charger on the market, the company showed an interest in CTEK's new battery chargers. One year later, the first OEM battery chargers had been delivered. After an exhaustive study of alternative suppliers around the world even Mercedes appointed CTEK as its official partner. Since then, more have followed suit. Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Artic Cat, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Maybach, Scania and Yamaha have also decided to use CTEK’s battery chargers with their own trademark.
