CTEK is an environmental aware company. We would like participate by doing our fair share to protect the environment. Our products shall be recyclable while the production of various types of materials we use always has the environment in mind.
Good and energy-efficient chargers is a good combination, which directly contributes to protect the environment. If lead-acid batteries receive the right care their service life increases, which means a smaller number of lead-acid batteries need to be “prematurely discarded" and the consumption of environmentally sensitive materials is significantly reduced. Neither should we forget the unnecessary carbon dioxide emissions through long and numerous shipments of these heavy batteries, both from factories and when discarding the batteries.
That said, we try not to say that everything we do or produce is now optimised for the environment, but we are an aware company, we are supporters and are committed to continually make improvements and develop our commitment.

CTEK Safety
Safety is the most important aspect for CTEK when we develop our chargers and accessories. There are several risks that should be taken into account and where possible these should be prevented. As CTEK designs and develops its products, we put the personal safety of the user first, followed by the battery, the vehicle in which the battery is connected and finally charger.
Personal safety: Gas forms in the batteries and this is vented in order to maintain an even and safe pressure. It is then very important that the charger is completely non-sparking and has full short circuit protection. It is not always possible to charge indoors in a dry and favourable environment, so it is really important that the chargers are approved for outdoor use and can withstand rugged environments. Electricity and water do not find it easy to coexist.
A protected battery: It is reassuring to know that even if you make a mistake, nothing will happen to the battery. There will be no short circuits and nothing happens if you reverse the polarity. When maintenance charging you know you can leave the charger switched on for long periods. CTEK chargers also detect whether the battery can accept and retain the charge, which means that you do not need to constantly monitor the charging process; it is the charger's job to ensure that the battery is not overcharged or incorrectly charged. With CTEK you can charge all types of lead-acid batteries.
Sensitive electronics in the vehicle: Not always taken into consideration, but just like a modem at home, the battery needs an exact charging voltage to prevent being damaged. Today, electronics are not just about the alarm and the stereo's settings, but performance-related and mechanical functions are also computer controlled.
Chargers must withstand mistakes: Naturally if you make a mistake you appreciate it if you are not exposed to any unnecessary risks, just like the battery and vehicle electronics. However, if you do make a mistake, ideally you would just like to reconnect and start charging without having to leave the charger for repair or some other inconvenience. CTEK’s chargers feature safety circuits which prevent such unnecessary problems from occurring. Besides, the chargers are extremely robust and withstand both rugged environments and heavy-handed handling.
CTEK User Friendliness
To charge and care for batteries should be easy, so easy that anyone should be able to do it, regardless of interest or technical expertise. For the majority, charging is a “necessary evil” to solve a specific problem, restore the battery to a good condition so that you can use the vehicle whenever you please.
For that reason all CTEK’s products are so extremely easy to use. Unique and sophisticated features that work for you under the cover, and simple choices and decisions on the outside.
The chargers, connect and forget: CTEK develops fully automatic chargers that analyse, charge and take care of your battery. The charger can remain connected for months to charge and maintain, which makes charging very convenient. When ordinary charging is complete, the charger automatically switches to maintenance charging and you do not need to worry about possible overcharging or damaged batteries.
With CTEK’s safety you do not need to worry about wrong connections. Just plug in the charger, set the Mode button and then forget the rest. Of course you do not need to disconnect the battery from the vehicle when charging with CTEK.
Accessories that make charging even easier: With good accessories you avoid problems such as connecting clamps on batteries in confined areas. One can also avoid the unpleasant feeling when you connect the clamps directly on the battery. CTEK has developed a series of quick connectors that can easily be connected permanently to the battery.
CTEK has other smart accessories, some indicate whether the battery needs charging or not, other accessories allow you to plug in the charger through the car's cig-plug (you should check first whether it works when the car is switched off) or to be able to use the connection to use the battery as a power source for a GPS, MP3 player, glove warmer, etc.
