CTEK partner Construction Equipment (CE) Dealer Team has had an amazing year, making its debut in the new all-electric FIA World Rallycross Championship. The team has been competing all around Europe and finished the season at the Nürburgring, Germany, with CE Dealer Team securing the teams’ bronze medal and driver Niclas Grönholm the drivers’ bronze medal.

Klara Andersson and Niclas Grönholm started the 2022 season at the classic Hell track in Norway, with both cars making it to the final. With the fully electric PWR RX1e, 26-year-old Finnish driver Niclas Grönholm managed to claim the team’s first race win in the semi-final. Klara Andersson finished fourth, ahead of her team-mate. The team continued their groundbreaking journey in Riga, Latvia, with Niclas Grönholm making it to the finals, finishing fifth.

Klara Andersson said: “We have shown our potential and collected valuable experience. The team have really supported me throughout the season and pushed me forward. I want to say big thanks to all of our partners and everyone in the team, who have supported us.”

The CE Dealer Team is the first ever gender equal full-season line up, and Klara is the only female driver in the top-tier of a FIA World Championship this year. At their next location, Montalegre in Portugal, the team accomplished a historic double podium as Niclas Grönholm claimed the team’s first win. Klara Andersson became the first female ever to secure a podium in the championship.

The success continued for the team as Niclas Grönholm finished second in both Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, finals and in the last round in Barcelona. The Spanish double header was the first all-electric World RX Event, with all competing classes being 100% electric.

Klara Andersson and Niclas Grönholm finished the season at the Nürburgring, Germany, with Niclas Grönholm claiming the bronze medal and Klara Andersson finishing seventh overall. This makes her the best ever placed female driver in world rallycross.

Niclas Grönholm said: ”It has been a promising, but also challenging season with the new all-electric cars. Now we have a lot of data and experience to work with to improve both the driving and the cars, to fight even higher up in the championship next season.”
