Framework agreement covers up to 3,000 charging points over four years to support Malmö's transition to sustainable transport

CTEK, a global leader in battery charging solutions, has been awarded a framework agreement to supply electric vehicle chargers to Malmö Parkering, the parking company owned by the City of Malmö. The contract was secured in partnership with Assemblin, an installation and service company in the Nordic region.

The framework agreement is estimated to include approximately 1,600 charging points during the initial contract period, with a maximum capacity of 3,000. The planned contract period runs from 15 June 2025 to 14 June 2026, with options to extend for up to three additional years, bringing the maximum contract length to four years.

The charging infrastructure will primarily serve residents, employees, visitors, and municipal staff at mobility hubs and municipal properties throughout Malmö. This procurement mainly covers hardware supply, with the municipality retaining the option to order installation and setup services as needed.

“We are happy to support Malmö Parkering in building the charging infrastructure needed to make electric vehicle ownership accessible and convenient for the city's residents and visitors. This partnership demonstrates how municipalities, installation partners, and technology providers can work together for the transition to sustainable transport”, says Henrik Fagrenius, CEO at CTEK.

The actual number of charging points installed will depend on evolving needs, changes in ownership regulations, and private market developments. The framework's structure allows for flexible adjustment of volumes based on real-world requirements.

Malmö Parkering is a municipal company fully owned by the City of Malmö, operating 12 parking facilities and managing approximately 35,000 parking spaces across company-owned and external properties. The company has set ambitious sustainability targets, with a key focus on facilitating the transition to a sustainable transport system in the city. Providing accessible charging infrastructure for residents and visitors represents a central component of this work.

CTEK brings extensive experience in electric vehicle charging solutions for parking operators. The company delivers charging infrastructure to Stockholm Parkering, including load-balancing solutions that enable the efficient expansion of charging networks.
