3G network shutdown – may affect your EV charging box
In December 2025, the 3G network will be shut down by most Swedish operators. This is a decision made by the operators and is beyond CTEK's control. Only Telia has currently announced that it will continue to offer 3G for a period after this, while other operators will shut down the network completely. For those of you who use a CTEK EVA CONNECTED, CHARGESTORM® CONNECTED 1 or CHARGESTORM® CONNECTED 2 with a 3G connection, this means that the connection may be terminated if no action is taken.

New Year, new EV charging rules for car park owners
The clock is ticking down towards new EU-wide rules on EV charging provision in commercial car park settings. From 1 January 2025 the EU directive on charge points in car parks takes effect, with new requirements for destinations that have car parks with a number of spaces above a certain threshold. The new rules are part of the broader Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), which focuses on non-residential buildings with car parks.

Bassetlaw Council switches on EV charging for the NHS
NHS staff in Worksop are charging their Electric Vehicles (EVs) using CTEK charge points installed by Bassetlaw District Council in one of its car parks in the Nottinghamshire town. The four CTEK dual outlet CC2 charge points are in the Council’s Town Hall East car park, which is now exclusively for the use of NHS staff in the mental health support unit based on one floor of Worksop Town Hall. CTEK’s guide to avoid ghost faults in the workshop
When a vehicle arrives for fault-finding or repair, the first thing you will do in most cases is connect it to a diagnostic tool, to find out where the fault is. But if the battery is not supported and has low voltage, an incorrect error code may be reported by the diagnostic tool – this is known as a ‘ghost fault’. It happens because the vehicle is trying to protect the unsupported battery, which it does in many cases by shutting down the systems it does not really need, like the radio, the air conditioning, or the start/stop function – and that is recorded as a fault.
